2003-2004 Mustang Mach 1 Info and Specs

At $29,025, the 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 is about midway between as GT and the Cobra.  The 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 does have a collectability that few other modern Mustangs enjoy.

The 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 is not just and badge and decal kit. The 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 is the REAL DEAL.  The new Mach 1, like its 1969 progenitor which offers a roaring, neck snapping, tire burning animal. The 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 It's just about perfect.

The 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 has so many special features it is hard to know where to start. I will star with its most prominent and unique feature, the Shaker Hood. The shaker hood is by far the coolest hood I have seen in late model mustangs and pretty much any other car. Ford did what I would have never guessed they would and put a truly functional Shaker Hood and scoop, how cool is that? The 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 Shaker Hood scoop stays so true to the original that it is actually tooled from the original. The 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 hood scoop shakes under the slightest input of the throttle and thrashs around at wide open throttle bursts, ingesting copious amounts of cold dense air for an added boost at speed.

The original Mach 1 would be proud of its new younger brother. The 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 is equipped with all the power to back up that menacing Shaker Hood. Equipped with an all aluminum underrated 32-valve, DOHC 4.6-liter, 305 HP engine that formerly powered the SVT Cobra. The 2003 -2004 Mach one is upgraded with heads and crank from its bigger sibling, the Cobra “Terminator”. With all the stock power on tap, the 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 hits 0 – 60 in 5.2 seconds and covers the quarter in about 13.5 seconds.  With little modes such as sticker tires, performance mid-pipe and steeper gears this car can dip right in to the 12s in the quarter mile.

With all this power naturally aspired you would think it would shake and rattle like its older 5.0 brethren. At idle, the 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1’s 4.6 V-8 is positively Cadillac like in its smoothness. Take a few step around back and you will hear and feel the contrary.

The 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 interior is laid out like most of 94 -04 Mustangs but is upgraded on the inside to match the Mach 1 exterior. All 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1s will feature a retro styled instrument cluster reminiscent of the 60’s. Many of you will quickly notice it is the same one from the Bullitt edition. Also the seats are the same framing of the 2003 Cobras and offer the same fit but are covered in a unique comfort weave leather that is a direct throw back to the original. Most 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1s will come with the “IUP” Interior Upgrade Package, Not sure why anyone would not opt for this. The Interior Upgrade Package for the 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 feature aluminum pedal covers, 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 aluminum shifter handle, 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 aluminum shifter bezel and door locks. Also, the 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 front seats feature angle adjustable headrests. All in all I think Ford did a great job on the 2003 -2004 Mustang Mach 1 interior.
